Alexandra Podolny

Alexandra Podolny has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Alexandra is currently working as the Deputy Project Director for the Federal Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Disaster Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) at the American Institutes for Research. Their responsibilities include supporting SAMHSA's efforts to prepare states, territories, tribes, and local entities for an effective mental health and substance use-related response to disasters.

Prior to their current position, Alexandra worked as a Housing Grant Manager at Guidehouse, where they managed housing grants. Alexandra also served as a Grants Manager at the Frederick County Division of Emergency Management, where they handled grant management.

Before that, Alexandra worked at the HOWARD COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH as a Harm Reduction Program Administrator. Alexandra was responsible for the administration of the harm reduction program.

Alexandra's work experience also includes an extensive tenure at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security. In their role as Associate Director, they successfully managed the business operations, project oversight, contract procurement, client interaction, and human resources. Alexandra established new projects and managed multiple-entity teams responding to government RFPs/RFQs. Alexandra also played a key role in planning complex events and participated in pan-organizational initiatives.

Alexandra's earlier roles at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security include Senior Policy Analyst and Law and Policy Analyst. In these positions, they secured additional funding, managed program development, and served as a senior instructor for continuity of operations courses.

Alexandra Podolny received their Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Maryland in 2000. Alexandra then went on to attend the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained their J.D. degree in Law.
