Bo Z.

Senior Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Bo Z. has a diverse range of work experience. They started their career in 2008 with an internship at Universal Orlando. They then worked as an intern at China Central Television in 2010 and as a production assistant at Radio Beijing Corporation from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, Bo Z. worked as an education researcher for a documentary film at MedArt Productions LLC and chaired the development committee at the Harvard China Education Symposium. They also served as co-chair of academic affairs and China Salon, as well as co-chair of social and internet affairs at Harvard Kennedy School China Society in the same year. In 2012, Bo Z. had roles as a program assistant intern at WorldTeach, a student advisor at Global Outstanding Leadership Development Center, and a young ambassador and event coordinator at International Leadership Foundation. Starting in 2013, Bo Z. joined the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and worked as a research associate until 2015. They then became a researcher until 2018 and currently hold the position of senior researcher at AIR. In this role, they lead research and evaluation studies focused on English language learners and K-12 educator preparation and performance. They have extensive experience managing federally funded multi-year and multi-site studies.

Bo Z. completed a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communication at Peking University in 2011. During their time at Peking University, Bo Z. also pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics, which they completed in the same year. In 2010, Bo Z. briefly attended the University of Cambridge for a course in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Later, in 2012, Bo Z. went on to obtain a Master's degree in International Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
