George Bohrnstedt

Senior Vice President And Institute Fellow

George Bohrnstedt serves as the Senior Vice President for Research at the American Institutes for Research, a position held since June 1988, where responsibilities include developing new research lines and overseeing projects related to educational assessment and program evaluation. In addition, George has been recognized as a Senior Vice President and Institute Fellow, highlighting exceptional contributions to technical innovations at AIR. Prior to this, George was a Consultant for The National Academies from 2007 to May 2012, and from 1973 to 1988, held the role of Professor of Sociology at Indiana University Bloomington. George's academic credentials include a PhD in Sociology with a minor in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 1958 and 1966. Additionally, George is a self-employed jazz musician, dedicating time to practice music.
