Gurjeet Dhillon (Sonica)

Senior Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Gurjeet (Sonica) Dhillon, PMP has a strong background in research and project management. Gurjeet (Sonica) started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago, where they co-designed and executed two studies. Gurjeet (Sonica) then moved on to Northwestern University, where they held the position of Project Coordinator for the Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center. In this role, they managed a budget of over $3.5 million and developed the position from scratch. Gurjeet (Sonica) also coordinated various tasks such as event planning, hiring, and communication between multiple universities and professors.

Currently, Gurjeet works at the American Institutes for Research as a Senior Researcher. Gurjeet (Sonica) is responsible for executing large-scale research studies funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Gurjeet (Sonica)'swork involves using rigorous experimental and quasi-experimental methods to examine program implementation and translate research into practice. Gurjeet (Sonica) is also accountable for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, utilizing a variety of engagement strategies.

Gurjeet (Sonica) Dhillon, PMP has a strong educational background in psychology and project management. Gurjeet (Sonica) completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Social Science - Cognitive Psychology at the University of Chicago from 2005 to 2006.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Gurjeet has also obtained a certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in December 2016. This certification demonstrates their expertise and competence in project management.
