Jana Kemp

Principal Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Jana Kemp has a significant amount of work experience in research and analysis. Jana started their career in 2008 as a Research Associate at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). From 2011 to 2015, they served as a Research Analyst, where they directed projects related to the School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS) and was responsible for budgeting, scheduling, task management, and staff supervision. Jana also played a role in survey item development, consultation with federal partners and experts, cognitive testing, and preparation of OMB review materials. In 2015, Jana was promoted to Senior Researcher, managing AIR's project work on SSOCS. Currently, they are serving as a Principal Researcher at AIR.

Before joining the American Institutes for Research, Jana worked as a Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant at Child Trends/American Institutes for Research - Education Statistics Services Institute from 2006 to 2008.

Jana Kemp completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2002 to 2006. Jana later pursued a Master's in Public Policy at The George Washington University and obtained their degree from 2011 to 2013.
