Julia Casasanto-Ferro has extensive experience in special education research and evaluation. Julia has been conducting this type of research since joining the American Institutes for Research in 2007. Julia'swork at AIR has focused on special education practice and policy topics, including multi-tiered systems of support, universal design for learning, and evidence-based practices. Julia has also worked on several national technical assistance centers funded by the Office of Special Education Programs. Prior to joining AIR, Julia worked as an Intervention Coordinator at Lifespan from 2005 to 2007.
Julia Casasanto-Ferro obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Education Research Measurement and Evaluation at Boston College, attending from 2011 to 2014. Continuing their educational journey, Julia enrolled in the Institute for Educational Leadership in 2015 to 2016, where they specialized in the Education Policy Fellowship Program.
