Kathleen Jones has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Kathleen started their career as an Administrative Associate at Stanford Medical Informatics in 1997. From 1999 to 2004, they worked at LookSmart, first as a Search Editor providing online reference assistance, then as a Research Editor evaluating webpages for inclusion in a general index. Kathleen later became the Lead Editor, overseeing a team of editors and managing editorial and community contributions.
In 2005, Kathleen joined Western Career College as a Librarian, responsible for managing two libraries and assisting users with reference and computer questions. Kathleen then moved to the Art Institute of California, San Francisco Campus in 2006, serving as a Librarian and later becoming the Library Director, where they managed library operations, set policies, and supervised student workers.
From 2014 to 2015, Kathleen worked as a Catalog Consultant at Envoy, training and managing a team of contractors to ensure accurate and easily searchable product information.
Currently, they are employed at the American Institutes for Research since 2015, first as a Research Associate involved in literature reviews and report and proposal writing. In 2021, they transitioned to the role of Researcher.
Throughout their career, Kathleen has demonstrated a strong background in research, information management, and leadership in various library and research-related positions.
Kathleen Jones obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Bryn Mawr College between 1991 and 1995. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University from 1997 to 1999.
