Kelsey Berryman

Research Associate at American Institutes for Research

Kelsey Berryman has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Kelsey started their career as an Intern at the STEP - Student Expedition Program, where they assisted high school students with college applications and taught test prep workshops. Kelsey then worked as a Direct Service Fellow at Milgrom Education Impact Fellowship, engaging directly with youth in partner schools through after-school programming.

Kelsey also served as a Promise Intern at the University of Chicago Office of Admissions, where they assisted in planning workshops, supported high school students in essay preparation, and conducted research on higher education policies and programs. At the University of Chicago office of Career Advancement, they held the position of Strategic Communications Director.

Kelsey's experience in education continued as a UPrep Intern at Chicago Public Schools Student Assessments, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research. In the latter role, they worked on various projects, including the Exposure to Community Violence Project and the To & Through Project on Freshman On-Track.

Kelsey also demonstrated leadership skills as the Chapter President of the Illinois Kappa Chapter of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, where they were responsible for chapter operations, budget oversight, event management, and community involvement. Kelsey also served as the Vice President of Philanthropy, coordinating community service opportunities and fundraisers for Pi Beta Phi philanthropies.

Most recently, Kelsey joined the American Institutes for Research as a Research Associate. Overall, their work experience showcases their passion for education, research, and leadership.

Kelsey Berryman pursued their higher education at the University of Chicago. From 2016 to 2020, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy. Later, from 2019 to 2021, Kelsey attended the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, where they obtained their Masters of Public Policy degree with a focus on Public Policy Analysis.
