Kenya Roy

Research Associate at American Institutes for Research

Kenya Roy has a diverse work experience. Kenya started their career at AmeriCorps in 2014 and 2016, serving as an Americorps Member. In 2014, they also worked as a Fall Fellow for the Gubernatorial Campaign for Wendy Davis. Kenya joined the Congressional Office of Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2017 as a Congressional Intern, where they attended hearings, conducted research, and handled various administrative tasks. Kenya then worked as a Policy and Research Fellow at the Campaign for Youth Justice in 2018, where they conducted research on juvenile justice policy and attended meetings and briefings on Capitol Hill. From 2015 to 2019, Kenya worked at the American University Library as a Library and Makerspace Desk Attendant. Kenya'smost recent position is at the American Institutes for Research, where they started as a Research Assistant in 2019 and currently holds the role of Research Associate since April 2022.

Kenya Roy completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a field of study in Public Policy from the School of Public Affairs at American University. Kenya attended from 2015 to 2019. In 2017, they also briefly studied at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, focusing on Social Change. Prior to their university education, Kenya attended The Hockaday School from 2005 to 2015. Additionally, they obtained an Advanced Leadership Certificate from the School of Public Affairs Leadership Program at American University in May 2019.
