Manxi Yang

Senior Researcher, Health at American Institutes for Research

Manxi Yang has extensive experience in the field of research and analysis. From 2015 to the present, Yang has been working at the American Institutes for Research, starting as a Research Associate and later transitioning to the role of Researcher. In this position, Yang served as the Topic Lead of the Support of Transparency Efforts by the United States Preventative Services Task Force, leading multiple teams in analyzing public comments for various topics. Yang also served as the project manager for two years.

Prior to this, Yang worked as a Research and Evaluation Consultant at Safe Kids Worldwide in 2014, where they conducted research on children's injuries and related policies. During this time, Yang conducted a significant project investigating the effects of Graduated Driver Licensing policies on teenagers' driving behaviors through a survey with over 1000 participants.

In 2013, Yang gained experience as a Data Analyst Intern at Baltimore City Public Schools.

Currently, Yang is a PhD student at UC Irvine, where they continue to develop expertise in the field of research.

Manxi Yang's education history begins with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Nankai University, which was earned between 2008 and 2012. During this time, Manxi also participated in an exchange program at The University of Auckland in 2010, focusing on English Language and Literature.

Following the completion of undergraduate studies, Manxi pursued a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2012 to 2014. The field of study for this degree is not specified.

Continuing with an interest in public health, Manxi went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology from UC Irvine between 2022 and 2027. This demonstrates a commitment to further research and understanding in the field.

In addition to formal degrees, Manxi has also obtained certifications in R Programming from Coursera in April 2017 and in The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera in March 2017. These certifications indicate a willingness to continually expand knowledge and skills in data analysis and programming.
