Administrative Specialist For Liaisons Recruitment Learning Development Diversity Inclusion at American Institutes for Research

Melissa Hunsiker has a strong background in administrative and educational roles. Melissa began their career in 1983 as a Senior Map Researcher for National Geographic's Traveler Magazine. Melissa then worked as a Map Coordinator for National Geographic Society Expeditions, overseeing research and production for magazine maps.

In 1998, Melissa joined National Geographic again, this time as an Assistant Editor in the Book Division. Melissa managed projects and performed various editorial tasks, including research and copyediting. Melissa also served as an Executive Assistant to high-level executives, maintaining their calendars and travel schedules.

From 2006 to 2008, they transitioned into the education sector, working as a First Grade and Geography Teacher at St. Andrew's Episcopal School. Melissa collaborated with administrators to develop a Geography curriculum based on their experience at National Geographic. Melissa also actively engaged with parents and volunteered for other school projects.

In 2008, Melissa became the VP Administration for American Heritage Publishing. Melissa held key responsibilities, such as assisting the President & CEO, managing museum projects and events, coordinating communications with prominent stakeholders, and overseeing various administrative functions.

Finally, in 2014, Melissa joined the American Institutes for Research as an Administrative Specialist. Melissa'srole encompassed various areas, including liaisons, recruitment, learning & development, and diversity & inclusion.

Throughout their career, Melissa has consistently demonstrated their organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in collaborative environments.

Melissa Hunsiker has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder.
