Ryan Williams

Principal Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Ryan Williams has extensive work experience in research and evaluation, with a focus on quantitative methods and statistical analysis. Ryan has worked for the American Institutes for Research since 2010, initially as a Researcher and currently as a Principal Researcher. In their role, they conduct large-scale field trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis in the field of domestic education research. Ryan also co-directs AIR's Methods of Synthesis and Integration Center.

Prior to joining AIR, Ryan was an Assistant Professor at The University of Memphis, where they taught courses in statistics, measurement, and research design. Ryan'sresearch at the university focused on research synthesis, meta-analysis, causal inference, and psychometrics.

Additionally, Ryan worked as a Project Manager at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for two years, and as a Research Associate at Learning Point Associates for a brief period.

Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated expertise in various quantitative research methodologies, statistical programming, and complex survey sampling.

Ryan Williams received their Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Indiana University from 2002 to 2006. Ryan then pursued their Master's degree in Research Methodology at Loyola University Chicago from 2006 to 2012. During the same period, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods from Loyola University Chicago.
