Alternative Assessment Content Lead For English Language Arts at American Institutes for Research

Yasmeen Tayeh has a diverse work experience. From 2010 to present, they worked at the American Institutes for Research. In their role as Alternative Assessment Content Lead for English Language Arts, they collaborated with the Education Content Team to develop state assessments. Yasmeen managed the item writing and reviewing process to meet deadlines and ensure fairness and alignment with Common Core State standards. Prior to this role, they worked as an Assessment Item Writer for English Language Arts, where they crafted and reviewed test items and performance tasks based on Common Core standards. Yasmeen also worked on ELPA 21 to develop assessment items for English language learners. Before joining the American Institutes for Research, they worked as an Elementary School Teacher at Al-Ihsan Cleveland Charter School from 2006 to 2009, and as a High School Student Teacher for English and Social Studies at Saint Joseph Academy in 2006.

Yasmeen Tayeh earned a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Baldwin Wallace University, studying from 2002 to 2006.
