Paul Balserak's work experience includes various roles in government agencies and organizations related to environmental regulations. From 2016 onwards, they served as the Vice President for Environment at the American Iron and Steel Institute, where they led engagement on federal environmental issues for steel producers and iron ore miners. Prior to that, they held positions at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Office of Management and Budget. At the EPA, they worked as a Deputy Director and Regulatory Analyst, providing support on regulatory analysis and policy development for Clean Air Act Greenhouse Gas regulations and other major air and water regulations. Paul also served as the Acting Chief of Staff to the Associate Administrator and as a Special Assistant to the Office Director at the Office of Solid Waste. Between 2007 and 2016, they were involved in strategic thinking, policy development, and negotiations on various environmental regulations.
Paul Balserak holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
