Stella Kafka

Stella Kafka is currently the Executive Director & CEO at the American Meteorological Society. Prior to this role, Stella served as the Executive Officer & CEO at the American Association of Variable Star Observers. Stella has a background in astronomy and physics, with experience working as a Research Associate at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and as a Journal Manager at the American Institute of Physics. Stella also held various roles at the Carnegie Institute of Washington, NASA, Spitzer Science Center, and Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. Stella has a PhD and MA in Astronomy from Indiana University Bloomington, as well as a BS in Physics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon. Throughout their career, Stella has made significant contributions to the field of astronomy and is known for their expertise in variable star astronomy.
