Founded in 1971, American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is the nonprofit wholesale power supplier and services provider for for 132 municipal Members in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia; as well as the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation, a joint action agency with eight Delaware municipal members. Combined, AMP’s member utilities serve approximately 650,000 customers. AMP is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with approximately 200 employees at headquarters and generating facilities. The organization is governed by a 21-member Board of Trustees consisting of 20 member communities and one representative of DEMEC. AMP’s mission is to serve Members through public power joint action, innovative solutions, robust advocacy and cost-effective management of power supply and energy services.
