Laura Whitman serves as the Chair of Exhibition Policy and the Chair of the Jesup Society at the American Museum of Natural History since September 2017. In addition to these roles, Laura is actively involved as a Trustee and Research Volunteer for the Executive Council of the Connoisseur’s Circle at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and as a Council Member at The New York Society Library. Laura leads the Goodhue Society as Chair and has also held the position of President at the Woman Flyfishers Club since April 2021. Laura's commitment to the Museum of the City of New York as an archives volunteer complements a longstanding career as an art advisor through Laura B Whitman Fine Arts Advisory since April 2004. Previous experience includes serving as an educator at Christie's in 2002, where Laura developed curriculum for a course on Chinese painting. Educationally, Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Asian Studies from Williams College and a Master's degree in East Asian Studies from Yale University, with further studies at New York University from June 2020 to December 2021 and The Taft School from 1983 to 1985.
