Martine Zilversmit currently serves as a Science Research Program Mentor at the American Museum of Natural History, where guidance is provided to high school Juniors and Seniors in computational genomics research. In addition, Zilversmit holds the position of Louis V. Gerstner Senior Scientist for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Fordham University, teaching project-based Bioinformatics courses to graduate and undergraduate students. Previous experience includes a role as an IRTA Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on population genetics and genome evolution in malaria parasites, and a Royal Society Visiting Scholar at the University of Oxford, researching mathematical modeling of recombination in gene families. Zilversmit's educational background includes a PhD in Biology with a concentration in Genetics from Harvard University, an MS in Biology from New York University, and an AB in Anthropology from Oberlin College.
