David Scanlon

David Scanlon currently serves as Chair in Computational Chemistry at the University of Birmingham since September 2023 and holds the position of Lead Editor for PRX Energy at the American Physical Society since February 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Professor of Computational Materials Design, Reader, Lecturer, and Ramsay Fellow at UCL from October 2011 to August 2023, alongside a role as Visiting Professor at Diamond Light Source from September 2013 to August 2021. Earlier positions include postdoctoral researcher and PhD student at Trinity College Dublin between October 2006 and 2011. David Scanlon obtained a B.A Mod. in Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin from 2002 to 2006, having attended Newbridge College from 1993 to 1999 and Sallins National School beforehand.
