Nyla Husain

Nyla Husain is an experienced science communications professional currently serving as the Science Communications Manager at the American Physical Society since March 2024. Prior roles include Writer for the Science Press Package at AAAS from December 2022 to March 2024 and John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow at NOAA from August 2022 to November 2022, as well as the U.S. House of Representatives from February 2022 to July 2022. Additionally, Nyla has worked as a Research Fellow at the School for the Environment and held multiple positions at the University of Rhode Island, including Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Research Assistant. Previous engineering experience includes roles at Navistar Inc as a Product Development Engineer and a Student Research Assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Nyla holds a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
