Rachel Mayer Friem is an experienced professional with a diverse background in instructional design and communication. Currently self-employed as Genxtravelmom, Rachel focuses on impactful product and service placements within travel narratives. As a Learning and Development Manager and Project Manager with the American Physical Society since April 2023, Rachel continues to enhance learning frameworks. Previous roles include Senior Instructional Designer at Northwestern Mutual and Instructional Designer at the University of Pittsburgh, where Rachel contributed to the All of Us Research Program. Additionally, Rachel served as the Director of the Tom Hopkins Communications Lab and Assistant Professor at Carlow University, developing and managing university-wide communication curriculum. Rachel holds a Master’s degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and Rhetoric with a minor in Psychology from DePaul University.
