Michael Romney

Theater Teacher at American Preparatory Academy

Michael Romney is an accomplished theater and dance educator with extensive experience in teaching and choreography. Currently serving as a Theater Teacher and Ballroom Dance Teacher at American Preparatory Academy since July 2018, Michael has also directed and choreographed for the American Fork Youth Theater and contributed as a choreographer for Murray Arts in the Park's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie." Michael's performance background includes roles in ensembles for productions at Hale Center Theater, such as "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "The Music Man." Previous academic work includes positions as an Adjunct Faculty member at Brigham Young University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, focusing on various dance styles, from Irish to ballroom. Michael holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Family Studies and World Dance from Brigham Young University.
