Emily Ristow

Emily Ristow currently serves as the Director of Local News Transformation at the American Press Institute, a role commenced in December 2019. Prior to this position, Ristow held multiple roles at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel from September 2013 to December 2019, including Loyalty and Engagement News Director and Audience Engagement & Mobile Editor, where responsibilities included developing audience strategies and coaching journalists on digital storytelling. Ristow's earlier experience includes digital production and editorial roles at The Augusta Chronicle, Cape Cod Times, Columbia Missourian, and the Associated Press, highlighting a strong background in digital journalism and audience engagement. Ristow graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
