Bob Passmore has a strong background in the insurance industry, particularly in the areas of policy development and issue identification. Bob has held various leadership positions throughout their career. Currently, Bob is serving as the Department Vice President, Personal Lines at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association. In this role, they are responsible for legislative and regulatory policy development related to claims, personal automobile, boat, and motorcycle insurance, as well as auto safety issues. Bob also acts as a subject matter expert before state and federal policymakers and serves as a staff liaison for multiple member committees. Prior to this, Bob held the position of Vice President, Auto & Claims Policy at the same company from 2015 to 2021, where they had similar responsibilities. Before joining the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, Bob served as the Senior Director of Personal Lines Policy from 2007 to 2015. Bob has also been involved in various advisory and board positions in organizations such as the Insurance Research Council, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute, and THE COALITION AGAINST INSURANCE FRAUD. Bob started their career at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where they worked in claims from 1985 to 2007. Overall, Bob Passmore's extensive experience and expertise make him a valuable asset in the insurance industry.
Bob Passmore attended Westtown School from 1977 to 1980, where they obtained a college preparatory education. After completing their time at Westtown School, Bob Passmore went on to attend Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania from 1980 to 1984. At Shippensburg University, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History. In addition to their formal education, Bob Passmore obtained the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification from The Institutes in August 2002.
