Derek Snyder has extensive experience in the field of science partnerships and outreach. Derek is currently serving as the Senior Director of Science Partnerships & Outreach at the American Psychological Association. Prior to this role, they worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Florida from 2015 to 2021. Derek has also held positions at The Archer School for Girls as a Science Instructor, the University of Southern California as a Research Assistant Professor, and San Diego State University as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Additionally, they worked at the University of Florida as a Research Associate, where they managed a biomedical research laboratory and conducted various research projects. Derek has a strong background in teaching, research, and project management.
Derek Snyder holds a PhD and MPhil in Neuroscience from Yale University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned an MS in Psychology from Florida State University between 1996 and 2000. Derek also completed their undergraduate studies at Yale University, where they received a BA in Psychology from 1991 to 1995.
