Mark James

Senior Manager, Information Technology at American Society of Plant Biologists

Mark James is the current Web Systems Manager at the American Society of Plant Biologists. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and as a coach for the Perth United Soccer Club. Mark also has experience as a Co Owner of Jameshaven Farms.

Mark James has a long history of working with and helping others. As a Research Assistant, they worked under the direction of Nathalie Chalifour, Professor of Law, to produce research memos on carbon taxation policy in Canada, federal sustainable agricultural programs, and environmental burdens in environmental justice cases under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Mark also updated "The Canadian Brownfields Manual." Mark James also worked under the direction of Lynda Collins and Heather McLeod-Kilmurray, Professors of Law, to produce case studies for chapter in their textbook, "The Canadian Law of Toxic Torts".

In addition to their research assistant experience, Mark James also has coaching experience. For 12 years, they coached house league youth teams, competitive traveling youth teams, women's and men's recreational traveling teams. During their time coaching, they organized and ran tryouts, served as league contact person, planned and led practice sessions, and managed team social media platforms.

Mark James' experience isn't just limited to research and coaching. Mark is also experienced in farm ownership. Mark is a Co Owner of Jameshaven Farms.
