Jean Eddy has a strong background in higher education administration and executive leadership. Jean served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of American Student Assistance since July 2017, and previously held the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer and President from November 2016 to June 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Rhode Island School of Design, where they served as Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for transforming the college's operations to increase efficiency. Jean also held the role of Senior Vice President at Rhode Island School of Design. Before joining Rhode Island School of Design, they worked at Brandeis University as Senior Vice President, overseeing all aspects of student life. Jean Eddy began their career at Northeastern University as Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Jean Eddy completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from Johnson & Wales University from 1987 to 1989. Prior to that, from 1980 to 1984, Jean Eddy obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Roger Williams University, majoring in nutrition.

ASA meets students both in and beyond the classroom with digital tools, resources, and information to empower their career planning journeys. We believe that exploring career possibilities, as early as middle school, and having equitable access to education-to-career pathways aligned with one’s passions and goals will result in greater confidence and long-term success for all students.
