Steven Engelkes

Steven Engelkes has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Steven currently serves as the Director of Finance and Administration at The American Swedish Institute. In this role, they oversee the financial management and administration of the organization. Prior to joining The American Swedish Institute, Steven worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Minneapolis Area REALTORS® from 2016 to 2019. Steven also served as the Volunteer Treasurer and Board Member at Northwest Consortium of The Gathering, providing accounting services and financial statements for this non-profit consortium. Additionally, Steven worked as a Property Controller at Fine Management, Inc., where they managed the financial operations of various real estate properties. Steven has also held positions at Data Recognition Corporation, Wells Fargo, Best Buy, Satellite Industries, and Coopers & Lybrand, where they gained experience in system testing, accounting, change management, and consulting.

Steven Engelkes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics from Wartburg College, where they studied from 1971 to 1975. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business, completing their studies from 1980 to 1983. Finally, Steven received an AHIMA Certification in Health Care IT from the Northwest Consortium in 2011, focusing on Health Care and EHR (Electronic Health Records).
