CAPT Charles Piersall is a highly experienced professional in maritime and management services, currently serving as the IMO Maritime Ambassador since October 2015. As the CEO of AMADIS, INC. since May 1991, Charles provides expertise in engineering, management, international standardization, and supply chain security. In addition, Charles has held the position of Chairman of ISO/TC8 since January 1995, focusing on international standards in maritime technology and operations. Charles also acts as the ISO Head of Delegations to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO), facilitating essential coordination between these bodies. As an Adjunct Faculty member at American University since 2011, Charles teaches managerial economics within the Graduate School of Public Administration. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Maritime Studies from the International Maritime University Panama and multiple MBA degrees from the University of Rochester, as well as a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Postgraduate School.
