Edwina Simms

Edwina Simms, MPA, currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations at American University, where responsibilities include providing strategic oversight for alumni affinity programming and collaborating with alumni volunteer leaders. Simms has a robust background in diversity, equity, and inclusion, holding the position of Chief Principal DEI Consultant at DLE Consulting Group since January 2019. Previous roles include Regional Director of Engagement at the University of Denver and various positions at American University, including Director of Multicultural and Affinity Engagement. With extensive experience in leadership roles at organizations such as the American Heart Association and the Huntington's Disease Society of America, Edwina Simms possesses a strong foundation in alumni relations and community engagement, supported by a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Strayer University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Central Florida.
