Heather Sauyaq Jean Kwamboka Gordon, PhD, is an accomplished Alaska Native scholar and consultant with a focus on Indigenous communities, sustainability, and research. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of Sauyaq Solutions, LLC since January 2022, Gordon emphasizes relationship building, cultural education, and well-being. Current roles include Community and Indigenous Engagement Strategic Director for UIC SCIENCE, LLC, Arctic Fulbright scholar, and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gordon has served on multiple boards, including the Arctic Research Consortium of the United States, and has held various academic and research positions aimed at enhancing Indigenous health and development. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Indigenous Studies from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, as well as a Master’s in Sociology and a Bachelor’s in Race and Ethnic Studies.
