Richard Ressler

Richard Ressler is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in academia and the defense sector. Currently serving as a Hurst Sr. Professorial Lecturer at American University since August 2019, Richard focuses on teaching data science courses to graduate and advanced undergraduate students. Prior to this role, Richard held various leadership positions at Booz Allen Hamilton from March 1998 to May 2019, including Principal and HQDA Market Leader, where Richard managed the Army Account's performance and led strategic initiatives for a $900M portfolio. Richard's earlier career includes significant contributions to the US Army, where as a Senior Analyst in the Army Modeling and Simulation Office, Richard was the primary author of key strategic documents on simulation technologies. Richard holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research and a Master's with Distinction in the same field from the Naval Postgraduate School, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
