Mujeeb Basha

Mujeeb Basha, P.E. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mujeeb is currently a Professional Member of the Board of Directors at Illinois Asian American Civil Engineers, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Civil Engineer at the Federal Aviation Administration, where they supported the Engineering Services Department in protecting and modernizing the airspace system. From 2019, Mujeeb served as the Director of Engineering and Principal at American Veteran Engineering, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. Mujeeb also co-owned and worked as an A&R at Test Your Metal Records, a heavy metal record label, starting in 2015. Earlier in their career, Mujeeb held positions at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Illinois Tollway, and the Chicago Department of Aviation, contributing to airport design and construction projects. Mujeeb also worked as a Senior Staff Engineer at AASHTO, responsible for business development and leading national transportation product evaluation. Mujeeb began their engineering career as a Resident Engineer at the State of Utah, specializing in reviewing and approving new products.

Mujeeb Basha, P.E. has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah. Mujeeb also has a certificate in Aiport Systems Planning and Design (AV-12) from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in "Documentation of Contract Quantities" from the Illinois Department of Transportation, a Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification from the US Army Corps of Engineers, and a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in Civil Engineering from the states of Illinois, Utah, and Virginia. Mujeeb Basha has also completed various courses, such as "High Performance Incentive Contracting," "Performance Requirements: The Key to Effective RFPs," and "Super-Charged Source Selection," offered by the Design-Build Institute of America.
