Douglas Hatfield

Douglas Hatfield possesses extensive experience in health and safety, risk management, and compliance across various industries. Currently serving as the Health and Safety Lead for American Water since November 2024, Douglas previously held the position of Risk Safety Specialist at Loudoun Water from December 2022 to October 2024. Additional roles include Vice President of Risk Management and Internal Audit, Director of Internal Audit, Safety & Environmental Health Manager, and Compliance Program Manager at Holistic Industries between November 2019 and October 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Compliance at the US Department of the Interior from March 2014 to June 2017 and Compliance Manager / Gaming Agent at the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission from February 2009 to March 2014. Douglas earned a degree in Safety/Environmental from Northeastern State University between 1996 and 1999.
