Chad Carl is the Chief Engineer of Materials & Processes Engineering at NASA, overseeing critical engineering functions at the Kennedy Space Center since January 2008. In this role, Chad serves as the technical authority for various programs, including Launch Services and Exploration Ground Systems, specializing in material compatibility and corrosion control, among other areas. Previously, Chad held positions such as Chief Engineer for Research & Technology Development and Lead Engineer for the Materials Engineering branch, managing the materials and processes for the certification of SpaceX's Falcon 9. Chad's experience also includes a senior role at Ford Motor Company as a Corporate Welding Engineer. In addition to extensive industry experience, Chad is actively involved with the American Welding Society, serving as a voting member and chairman of the D17K subcommittee. Chad completed a degree at The Ohio State University from 1995 to 2001.
