Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek has over 15 years of experience in energy, trading, energy infrastructure, and entrepreneurship. He is the founding member of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Energy team. He currently leads clean energy investments to power AWS’s global infrastructure in over 25 countries.

At Amazon he has launched several energy programs, including the global renewable energy program to power Amazon’s operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025. Amazon is currently the largest corporate buyer of renewable energy with 20GW of solar, wind projects over 20 countries. He has structured and executed several strategic partnerships, investments with energy companies to accelerate Amazon’s net zero commitment under the Climate Pledge.

Prior to joining Amazon, he co-founded a successful electricity trading hedge fund called kWantix Trading. An energy services company backed by General Electric (GE). Prior to career in energy, he architected ML/AI software systems for the US government.

Abhishek received his MBA from Columbia University, MS in Robotics / AI from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and a BS in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
