Jake Wheeler

Jake Wheeler possesses extensive experience in global health and humanitarian response, currently serving as the Director of Medicine Security Strategic Advancement at Americares since September 2024. Prior roles at Americares include Director of Ukraine Response and Team Lead, Field Team Lead, and Emergency Response and Assessment Officer, all focusing on Ukraine's humanitarian crisis between April 2022 and July 2024. Previously, Jake held various positions at The Carter Center, including Country Representative and Senior Program Manager, and was Associate Director at Orkeeswa. Jake's expertise is further complemented by consulting roles at The World Bank and UNHCR, as well as a background in research assistance across several organizations. Jake Wheeler earned a Master’s Degree in Global Human Development from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and African Studies from Emory University.
