Ayanna S Bryan, PhD has over 13 years of work experience in various roles. As Lab Services Manager, they supervised Neurophysiology technicians, electrophysiological experiments and projects, budgets, daily goals and technical operations, offered feedback to employees on their performance and resolved technologists’ concerns, and led vendor management, quality assurance, inventory management, and animal care. As Postdoctoral Research Associate, they advanced and initiated new experimental paradigms, collected and analyzed electrophysiological data sets, and produced novel hypotheses for development of experimental studies.

From 2006-2008, Ayanna worked at Washington University in St. Louis as a Postdoctoral Research Associate of Animal Science. In this role, they experimented with animal model systems for the neural correlate of sensorimotor activity, identified areas of cortical activation during psychophysical tasks, resulting in perceptual errors, and performed small animal surgeries including ocular coil implantation and stereotaxic chamber for deep brain stimulation.

Ayanna S Bryan, PhD received their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Neuroscience from Brock University in 1999. Ayanna S then attended Brandeis University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience in 2006. During their time at Brandeis, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Neurobiology and Neurosciences. Additionally, they have a certification from Dale Carnegie Training's Sales Edge Continuing Education.
