Donald Lovejoy has a diverse work experience that includes roles in various organizations. Donald began their career in 2008 as a Public Service Employee at San Bernardino County, where they worked until 2011. In 2012, they joined the National Park Service as a Backcountry and Wilderness Intern, where they provided customer service, managed wilderness areas, and educated visitors on wilderness ethics until 2013.

Afterwards, Donald Lovejoy joined The Great Basin Institute in 2014 as an AmeriCorps Crew Member, where they worked on trail maintenance and data collection until 2014. Donald then became a Tierra Village Career Coach at Intermountain AmeriCorps, supporting individuals in career development from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, Donald Lovejoy joined the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation as a Development Coordinator, working on development initiatives until 2016. Donald then transitioned to the Corporation for National and Community Service, where they served as a Program Officer from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, they took on the role of Portfolio Manager at the same organization.

Throughout their career, Donald Lovejoy has gained experience in various areas such as program management, development coordination, customer service, trail maintenance, data collection, and career coaching.

Donald Lovejoy earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Outdoor Recreation in Parks and Tourism from Southern Utah University, where they studied from 2011 to 2013. Donald later pursued a Master's degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration from San Francisco State University, attending from 2016 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Lovejoy obtained certifications as a Leave No Trace Trainer from the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics and as a Wilderness First Responder from the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI).
