Topper Ray

EVP, Public Affairs at AmeriHealth Caritas

Topper Ray serves as Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for AmeriHealth Caritas. He oversees Corporate Communications, Government and External Affairs, and the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation.

Before joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Ray served as President of Communications at Bravo Group, a strategic communications consulting firm headquartered in Pennsylvania. Previously, he was Chief Communications Officer at Blank Rome, LLP, where he led a team responsible for building the international law firm's brand across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Ray was also a founding principal of Blank Rome Government Relations, LLC, in Washington, D.C., where he guided media strategy and communications counseling for CEOs, civic leaders, and public affairs marketing efforts. Rays government experience began in 1 991 when he served in the White House Office of Presidential Advance for President George H.W. Bush. There he helped to manage media for events across the U.S. as well as globally for events such as the G-7 World Economic Summit in Munich, and President H.W. Bush's historic signing of the second Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START II) in Moscow.

Ray earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Hampden-Sydney College. He is a current member and the immediate past chair of the National Advisory Council for The College of Charleston's School of Communications and serves as a member of the advisory board for Avantus Federal in Washington, D.C.
