Umar Fazlan

Umar Fazlan has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Umar started their career in 2022 as a Debate Coach at SMK Damansara Utama. Umar then worked as an Intern at DGK David Gurupatham & Koay for a short period. In the same year, they joined First Steps For Wildlife as an Event Associate, where they conducted podcast interviews and curated content on environmentally friendly fitness.

In 2022, Umar also joined Podium Academy as a Debate and Public Speaking Coach, where they honed their coaching skills. Umar further expanded their research and organizational skills by becoming a Research Executive at AMEU: Association of Malaysian Economics Undergraduates. In this role, they researched and wrote economics content for infographics series and was part of the organizing committee for the MY FLAGSHIP event.

Umar's expertise in research and economics led him to become the Research Director at AMEU in 2023. In this position, they conducted research workshops, organized panel sessions and case study competitions, and contributed to the annual AMEU Summit.

Most recently, Umar joined YPOLITICS as a Politics and Socioeconomics Researcher in 2023. This role showcases their interest in politics and socioeconomic issues.

Overall, Umar Fazlan has gained valuable experience in research, coaching, event management, and public speaking throughout their career.

Umar Fazlan began their education in 2016 at Cempaka International School where they pursued their Cambridge IGCSE. Umar completed their studies there in 2021. Following this, they enrolled at Garden International School in 2021 and is expected to graduate in 2023. At Garden International School, Umar is currently undertaking a Cambridge A-Level program with a focus on Economics, Business, Mathematics, and History.

In addition to their formal education, Umar gained practical experience through an internship in the Financial Services and Consulting sector. Umar completed this internship in June 2022 at Bright Network.
