Imad A. Haidar Ahmad is currently the Scientific Research Director for Discovery Chemistry and Externalization at Amgen since September 2023. Prior to this role, Imad served at Merck from June 2017 to August 2023 as the Team Lead for Multiscale Separations, overseeing a team focused on purifying compounds through various separation techniques. Earlier positions at Merck included Associate Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist, where Imad specialized in method development and optimization across multiple programs. Imad worked at Novartis from July 2013 to June 2017 as a Principal Scientist, leading inhalation drug product programs and developing key analytical methods. Academic experience includes postdoctoral research at the University of Minnesota and teaching chemistry as an adjunct professor at Florida State University. Imad holds a PhD and Master's degree from Florida State University and completed postgraduate studies in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Minnesota. A foundational education in chemistry was obtained at Lebanese University.
