Jane Richardson has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Jane started as a Regional News Manager and Acting Managing Director at GWR Group plc, where they managed multiple newsrooms. Jane then worked as a Marketing Consultant as a freelancer before joining the National Trust as the Head of Marketing & Supporter Development for Wales. Jane was responsible for setting the strategic direction for marketing, communications, and fundraising. Additionally, they handled the integration of Tredegar House & Dyffryn Gardens into the National Trust. Jane later joined the Welsh Government as the Director of Partnerships & Policy for Tourism, where they led tourism product development across Wales. Jane then worked as a Director at Clear Thinking Strategy & Planning Ltd before taking on the role of Strategic Director, Economy & Place at Conwy County Borough Council. In this position, they oversaw a wide range of services and led infrastructure projects. Jane also served as the Chair of the Executive Group of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board. Currently, they are the Chair of Cadw, Wales's national heritage organization, where they have achieved significant milestones in governance, income performance, business planning, and audience development. In 2023, Jane will begin working as the Chief Executive Officer of Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales.

Jane Richardson completed their Master of Arts (MA) in English from the University of Oxford from 1995 to 1998. In 2003, they obtained a Foundation Certificate in Welsh from Bangor University. Then, in 2004 and 2005, they earned a Professional diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Jane also holds a certification in Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), although the month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
