April Hearne has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. April started their career at Children's Literacy Center in 2010 as a Site Coordinator and Tutor, where they managed and led two tutoring sites and trained volunteers. In 2013, they joined Audubon Companies as a Brand and Digital Strategist, leading corporate marketing projects and coordinating website and collateral system development. In 2016, April joined Amigos de las Americas (AMIGOS) and held various managing director roles, including Operations, Business Operations, and Marketing and Communications. April has excelled in project management, leadership, and strategic planning throughout their career.

April Hearne attended Colorado College from 2009 to 2013 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology. In 2012, they also participated in a program called Socioeconomic Development in Contemporary Cuba at the University of Havana, which was in collaboration with Colorado College. Additionally, during the same year, they completed a program in Sociology at the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs (HECUA). April Hearne completed their high school education at Bellaire High School, although the specific years are unknown. Furthermore, they earned a certification in Wilderness First Responder from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in January 2011.
