Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell is the current director at Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. Prior to that, they were the head of biology department at University of North Carolina at Greensboro from August 2016 to July 2019. Before that, they were at University of Alberta.
Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of Regina. Matina then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Zoology/Animal Biology at Western University. After that, they undertook a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley.
