Keith Ward is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of chemical and biological warfare defense and biophysics. Currently serving as Affiliate Faculty at George Mason University's School of Systems Biology since February 2011, Ward also offers pro bono technical advice to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. Previous positions include Senior Science Advisor at the FBI Laboratory and various roles within the US Department of Homeland Security, where responsibilities included leading research and development in the Chemical and Biological Division. Ward's academic background includes serving as Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and earning a Ph.D. in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University. Notably, Ward has also contributed to the Smithsonian Institution as a Volunteer Docent in the Hall of Human Origins and has held numerous scientific leadership roles throughout a distinguished career spanning several decades.
