Erik Derecktor has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Erik began their career as a Research Assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2015. In 2016, they joined the United States Naval Academy as an Offshore Sail Training Officer and simultaneously became a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy. Erik served in the Navy until 2021.
After leaving the Navy, Erik joined Running Tide in 2021 and held multiple roles. Erik started as a Marine Consultant before transitioning to a Manufacturing Engineer role focused on Measurement & Verification. Later, they became the Lab Manager for Product Development. In 2023, Erik joined Amogy as a Project Manager, overseeing commercialization efforts.
Erik Derecktor has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Erik also attended Nuclear Power School at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) to study Nuclear Engineering. Erik Derecktor completed their secondary education at Horace Mann School. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including Electric Boat Motor: Foundations from the Island Institute, Naval Nuclear Engineer from Naval Reactors, Quality Assurance Manager from the US Navy, and a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
