Curator Of Paintings, Sculpture, And Works On Paper at Amon Carter Museum

Shirley Reece-Hughes serves as the Curator of Paintings, Sculpture, and Works on Paper at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art since July 2016, overseeing collection development, research, exhibition organization, and collaboration with the education team. Previously, Reece-Hughes held the position of Associate Curator of Paintings and Sculpture at the same museum, where an annual gallery dedicated to Texas art was initiated. Earlier experience includes a role as Curatorial Assistant at the Dallas Museum of Art, focusing on exhibition coordination, research, and curatorial support across various art specialties. Reece-Hughes earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Art History from the University of Kansas.
