Carly Farris has held a variety of positions in the research and development field. From 2012 to 2015, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at California State University-Long Beach, where they conducted activity levels of C1q in lupus patients and its modulation of gene expression patterns in macrophages during ingestion of lipoproteins. Carly also completed a Laboratory Internship at Advanced Pain Care in 2015, where they conducted sample extractions, processing, and analysis for patient drug testing. In 2016, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at San Diego State University-California State University. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been a Senior Research Associate at Amprion, where they have been responsible for developing Protein Misfolding Cyclic Amplification (PMCA) assays for the detection of biomarkers associated to neurological diseases, as well as developing and characterizing recombinant alpha-Synuclein protein purification protocol.
Carly Farris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology: Physiology from California State University, Long Beach in 2013. Carly then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Bioengineering: Biomaterials from San Diego State University, which they completed in 2017. Carly also holds a Certificate in Basic Applied Forensic Science & Crime Analysis from California State University-Long Beach.
