Clara Frias

Clara Frias currently serves as a Professor of Composites Manufacturing at AMRC, where Clara holds a Personal Chair and leads The Composite Centre, overseeing the delivery of grant-funded research projects worth approximately £25 million. Previously, Clara managed the Programme for Simulation Innovation at The University of Manchester, focusing on automotive materials life cycle prediction, and led research initiatives at both the National Composites Certification and Evaluation Facility and The Aerospace Institute. With experience as a Development Engineer at NetComposites, where Clara advanced thermoplastic composites and graphene technologies, and a strong academic background including a PhD in Engineering Sciences and an EMBA in Advanced Manufacturing, Clara combines practical engineering expertise with academic leadership.
